Counselor

Allison L. Smith, M.Ed., LPC, RPT, NCC 

Allison L. Smith is a dedicated and highly experienced Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) at Our Lives Counseling, LLC, where she brings her extensive expertise to support individuals from all walks of life.  As a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), Allison has a deep commitment to providing inclusive, affirming, and person-centered mental health care.  With a background in education and counseling, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech University and a Master of Education in Counseling with Clinical Mental Health Certificate from Lamar University.

Allison’s therapeutic approach is rooting in empathy, acceptance, and a genuine desire to help her clients thrive.  She is trained in a wide range of evidence-based therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).  Her diverse skill set and her person-centered approach allows her to tailor her sessions to meet the unique needs of each client.

Specializing in LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy, trauma recovery, disorder management, and executive functioning skills development, Allison works closely with her clients to foster personal growth and resilience.  She is focused on helping individuals build healthy habits, set and achieve meaningful goals, and develop effective strategies for managing stress and overcoming challenges.

Kate Leith is a business professional whose career has been dedicated to helping others grow to their full potential. She has been in coaching, teaching, and mentoring roles throughout her career and focuses on maximizing people’s strengths by providing opportunities for them to excel.

At Our Lives Counseling, Kate brings a process approach that creates efficiency in our business systems that allows therapists to focus on client interactions rather than administrative tasks.
